With all the change (and upcoming growth) in the business of late, we’ve been forced to do a deep dive into understanding the process of achieving big goals. It struck me a few months ago…we are in the business of helping people change, yet we were missing one of the most important details of change—coaching the planning process.
“I’ve always found the plans to be useless, but the process of planning was indispensable,” Dwight D Eisenhower.
The magic of planning is that it forces you to ask better questions. It gives you a map. The better the questions, the more clearly you can see the map, and a clear map gives you a way to gauge progress. It gives you a main road to come back to when you drift off course.
For the most part, people come to our business to pursue action steps they have already chosen (eat right, exercise more, etc). But what if we could offer them clear action steps, and one better? What if we could be significantly more effective about helping people plan their health goals around their big picture, whole-life goals? After all, if we don’t set them up for whole-life success, whatever way we help them will not likely have a lasting impact.
No doubt our clients work hard while they are here, but what if we can help them think as hard as they work?
“If you give me an hour to solve a problem, I’ll spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions,” Albert Einstein.
Well there’s a different way to think about the process of change. If one of the smartest men (maybe even wisest?) who ever lived would spend 55 minutes trying to come up with the right questions, and 5 minutes planning action steps, there has to be some wisdom to that approach.
We believe our industry in general is really lacking in the aspect of helping people ask better questions so they can come up with better solutions. We want to do something about that!
Where the rubber hits the road and where goal setting turns into goal achieving starts with a very thoughtful planning process. So, in the last few months we’ve spent considerable time thinking through how we dramatically increase our client’s chances of accomplishing their goals in 2016. What we came up with, we believe will be the difference between goal achievement, and falling back into old patterns.
We call it Healthy Lifestyle Transformation, and it is our newest coaching and mentoring program to give you great clarity regarding your goals themselves and the process of how to get there. You won’t find this kind of program anywhere else; we haven’t been able to find it! If you’re ready to think hard, not just work hard, we can’t wait to be a part of making 2016 your best year yet.
Check out our site for more details and don’t miss our upcoming workshop on January 4th. See you then!
